Parents at AVCooperativeNS are required to:

  • Have a Clean Police Records Check. (a letter from the director can be provide so that the criminal record check is conducted FREE of charge at the police station)

  • Have your standard First Aid & CPR Level C certification (once registration increases and parents are required to attend in-class, AVCNS will offer those of you who don't have their certificate an in-house training session at a reduced cost, run by one of our certified firefighter parents). The following are a few places which also offer Standard CPR Level C & First Aid:

  • Provide a Healthy Snack for the entire group of children (fruit, veggies, crackers OR cookies) On Birthdays or Special Occasions parents can provide "backed goodies" for the group *{Please be mindful of any allergies as well as trying your best to ensure that the baked goods are peanut, tree-nut and sesame free}

  • Volunteer In-Class. (Once registration increases and educator/child ratios are over, the director will send out an email indicating when In-Class parent attendance is required. Until then, Enjoy your Quiet time and RELAX!)     

  • Take home and do Laundry once a month (It's mostly towels and cloths :) 

  • Provide home-made playdough for the entire group (Playdough Recipes

  • Provide a healthy peanut and nut-free lunch for your child in a labelled lunch bag containing an ice-pack, to keep food fresh. (Applicable to: parents whose children have lunch at AVCNS)

  • Attend Parent Board meetings once a month to give your input and feedback about AVCNS.  

  • Attend the Annual General Meeting (AGM) in June.
